JOB DETAILS:
JOB REF: HR/6/IA

Job Purpose
Responsible for participating in Risk Based Audits and reviewing the Corporation’s business processes in line with the internal audit policies, strategies and standards towards the achievement of the Department functions.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks

Operational Responsibilities / Tasks
• Provide inputs for the update of policies and procedures for implementation;
• Participate in undertaking audit assignments in line with the approved audit work plan to confirm the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and control
• Perform audit tests on the internal controls in accounting, administrative and operational procedures for compliance;
• Prepare draft audit reports for audit engagements executed for submission to the Senior officer, Internal Audit;
• Prepare draft audit test procedures, draft notifications, and draft request for information memos;
• Participate in the preparation of draft risk-based audit plans, programmes and schedules for implementation;
• Participate in the review of income generating activities and grants to confirm accountability and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Participates in maintaining proper filing records, referencing working papers, arranging audit reports and appendices for easy retrieval.
• Ensure that the audit working paper files are complete for easy referencing.
• Participates in taking notes/minutes during entry and exit internal audit meetings and capturing audit findings for documentation and implementation.

Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).
Academic qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
• Passed Part II of Certified Public Accountants (CPA II) Examination or its recognized equivalent.
• Previous relevant work experience required.
