JOB DETAILS:

This position will be based at the Group’s Head Office in Madison House and will report to the Group Head of ICT. The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the Group’s Network infrastructure. This includes optimizing key functional areas; particularly IP Networking, Datacentre Network technologies, network routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, wireless controllers, and other network devices and servers in collaboration with external vendors, system experts, and consultants.

Key Responsibilities
1. Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards while at the same time adhering to the Company’s Policies, Processes, and Procedures with respect to Network systems support and IT Service Management.
2. Performing Network maintenance, migration, and upgrading hardware and software.
3. Setting up LAN and WAN networks, as well as Voice Over IP, VPNs, and other network links that facilitate integrations across various platforms with the Madison Group’s core systems: Including analytics platforms, financial systems, and communication systems (SMS and Email).
4. To manage group network security-related projects and ensure incidents, problems, and, escalations are dealt with according to a defined set of policies, processes, procedures, and SLAs.
5. Work with vendors to research emerging technologies, diagnose, and resolve network problems.
6. Utilize tools to monitor the network to ensure optimum performance and troubleshoot issues.
7. Maintain internet links, and work with other units in the ICT department and staff in the integration, maintenance, and problem resolution of network services.
8. Maintain documentation relating to network setups and configuration, and work with Procurement Services in the preparation and evaluation of bid specifications for network hardware and software.
9. Project Management, ensuring delivery of projects and modules within the time and budget, and resource constraints.
10. Ensuring alignment of the Network Projects towards the company strategy such as greater reach, industry competitiveness, and overall profitability.
11. Escalate any major risks that relate to either an individual process or the entire portfolio to the Head of Information Technology.
12. Prepare monthly reports to the Head of Information Technology on the performance of the network.
13. Contribute to the company’s knowledge and expertise with respect to service management.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
2. Certification in Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) is mandatory while CCNP is preferred.
3. Minimum 4 years’ experience in IT with 2 years in a network support role within a large highly digitized organization managing mission-critical systems.
4. In-depth knowledge of hardware, software, and network installation techniques.
5. Exceptional ability to provide network support and resolve errors.
6. Extensive experience with Inter-Network Operating Systems such as Cisco.
7. Good understanding of the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) Industry and how Information Technology contributes to the success of financial institutions.
8. ITIL Service Level Management certification is an added advantage
