JOB DETAILS:
Cereal Growers Association (CGA) is a national not-for-profit, member-based farmer organization incorporated in August 1996, to bring cereal farmers together in addressing industry challenges in Kenya. CGA works with stakeholders such as agricultural input suppliers, financial institutions, produce buyers, development partners, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Government agencies among others to provide services to its members. CGA aspires to be a leading agribusiness solutions provider through evidence-based advocacy, facilitating business linkages and strategic partnerships.
Job Summary
Principally reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Member Services Manager will be responsible for coordinating access to needed business support services by CGA members including targeted training. This will be done through the establishment of strategic partnerships with a wide network of public and private sector actors across the entire grain value chain. The objective will be to support members in their quest to improve productivity through training, enhanced operational efficiency and adoption of improved farming technologies. .

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Member outreach and engagement
• Using a variety of channels/media market CGA services to potential members and partners.
• Carrying out regular review of member business support needs.
• Coordinating the development of appropriate member outreach and training interventions.
• Updating members and partners on ongoing interventions.
Member training services
• Reviewing member and staff training needs.
• Working with partners, take lead in designing member training modules and approach.
• Establishing learning/technology demonstration sites, recording and results dissemination.
• Organizing business linkage forums such as trade fairs, field days, workshops among others.
• Support member collective action efforts for enhanced operational efficiency.
Development and dissemination of training and communication materials
• In consultation with industry players and members, develop an annual calendar of technology dissemination and training events.
• Serve as the liaison with various county Governments in support of member access to extension services.

• Strong networking and mobilization skills.
• Flexible team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Requirements for the Post of Member Services Manager
• University Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Education and Extension, Agricultural Economics or Agricultural Engineering. A Master’s degree in the same field would be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within the Agricultural industry, preferably in Technical Sales, Business Development, Agricultural Extension or Research.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and pro-actively as part of a large team.
