House Allowance: Ksh.3, 200 –Ksh.6, 750– p.m (Depending on duty station)
Commuter Allowance: Ksh.4, 000p.m
Leave allowance: As existing in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As provided by the government
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
• a Diploma in any of the following fields: Applied Sciences (Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biology), Food Science and Technology, or Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution;
• a registration certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB; and
• a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).

Duties and Responsibilities:-
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An Officer at this level will work under guidance and supervision of a senior Officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:
decontaminating working benches;
• receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens for accuracy;
• preparing clients for collection of specimen;
• receiving Collecting, labeling and registering specimen;
• disaggregating specimens for processing and analysis; and
• performing routine diagnostic tests.
