JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
Ensure high-quality maternity services to all patients through provision of effective nursing services Oversee delivery room services, antenatal, postnatal, and Newborn unit.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Effective monitoring and evaluation of patients admitted in the maternity ward.
2. Implement the highest possible standard of client care by participating in setting up and upholding of the hospital standard protocols and guidelines.
3. Ensure quality critical care services for newborn infants (NICU).
4. Provide leadership and direction as well as implementation of hospital objectives within the maternity units.
5. Motivate and empower staff to perform to their optimum
6. Ensure an outstanding client experience.
7. Educate and support mothers in breastfeeding and care of the new-born.
8. Formulate comprehensive nurses’ duty rosters to ensure 24hr coverage of the Maternity Ward.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
BScN, KRCHN or (KRN/KRM).
1. Maternity experience of 5 years and above with at least two years as in charge.
2. Must be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
3. Valid Nursing Practice License.
4. Valid competency in BLS, ACLS, ETAT+ and EmOC will be an added advantage.
5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
