JOB DETAILS:
East African Portland Cement Plc (EAPC Plc the Company) is a leading Cement Manufacturing Company which was established in 1933.
The Company's product sold under the brand name Blue Triangle Cement has been instrumental in the Region's social economic growth as virtually all segments of development have benefited from the use of this brand.
The Company is seeking to fill the following vacant position as part of a reorganization program that is aimed at providing operational and strategic leadership.
Managing Director-Job Ref: EAPC PLC/MD-CEO/02/2021
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will be responsible for implementing EAPC Ple's Strategic Plans and policies as approved by the Board.
He/She will also serve as the leader of the Management Team and be the Team's representative on the Board of Directors. .
Key Responsibilities
The MD's key responsibilities are to:
• Work with the Board to institute appropriate strategies, plans and procedures to ensure achievement of the Company's Vision and Mission,
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Management Team so as to ensure delivery of corporate objectives:
• Oversee day-to-day administrative matters and establish effective structures, processes and systems to ensure appropriate control over company operations
• Spearhead the establishment and sustenance of networks and partnerships to ensure the company's financial sustainability through effective financial strategies
• Ensure achievement of the Company's operating financial goals in line with Budgets and Annual Performance Contracts negotiated with the Ministry responsible for Industrialization;
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutory legal and regulatory requirements and establish mitigation measures against emerging business risks:
• Enhance the Company's public image by promoting and upholding high standards of integrity and governance within the company and cultivating positive working relationships with all stakeholders; and,
• Maintain a conducive work environment that helps attract, retain and motivate employees and foster a culture that promotes ethical practices and good corporate citizenship.

Person Specifications
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
• Holder of Bachelor's degree(s) from universities accredited by the Commission for University Education
• Having a Master's Degree(s) and/or post graduate qualifications in fields relevant to Strategy Finance, Accounting Business, Engineering and/or Corporate Management will be an added advantage;
• Holder of relevant qualifications in senior leadership / Management;
• Holder of certification in Corporate Governance from recognized institutions;
• Have not less than fifteen (15) years working experience in public or private sectors of which at least ten (10) years must be at senior management level in a large private or public organization(s).
• Experience gained in a manufacturing environment will be an added advantage:
• Be a member in good standing registered with the body relevant to his/her profession, and,
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively with Government, Financial Sector players and other stakeholders relevant to the Company's mandate.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
• The appointment is for a contract of three (3) years renewable once, subject to satisfactory performance and delivery of set performance targets.

Other Requirements
In addition to the person specifications outlined, candidates are expected to fulfil the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the Leadership and Integrity Act and applications should be accompanied by copies of the following documents:
• Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority
• Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board;
• Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
• Clearance from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;
• Clearance from an approved Credit Reference Bureau;
• National Identity Card.
