JOB DETAILS:
The Recruiting entity is one of the largest Pension Schemes in the Country with an asset base of over Ksh 15B. The Pension Scheme has over Kshs 11 Billion invested m one (1) Commercial Building, residential properties and vacant plots spread across the country. The Scheme is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following position:
5. Manager. Finance And Accounts
The role is accountable and responsible for managingall financial activities across the Scheme including but not limited to financial analysis and planning, financial risks assessment, legal and regulatory compliance for the finance department.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Process member’s benefits according to scheme rules and the set legislation as to ensure set regulations are adiored to.
• Monitoring Scheme Financial Performance to ensure efficiency.
• Develop maintain and test appropriate financial policies, procedures and systems that best suits, overseeing adherence and implementation of the Scheme.
• Ensure the Scheme complies with the minimum financial laws and regulations at all times.
• Participating in the Scheme strategic planning session and taking lead in budget processes and implementation.
• Prepare and present periodic financial reports to the Trust Secretary and Trustees
• Coordinate delivery and review of reports from fund managers, custodian, actuary and managing agents to ensure standards and procedures are being followed.
• Review and advise on financial implications on court cases, decisions of the board and review implications on results of actuarial valuations to ensure rehabilitation projects are running well and are done in a timely manner.
• Attend to staff administrative issues relating to Human Resource In the Scheme / Fund to ensure staff wellbeing is observed.
• Manage all financial and institutional audits, both internal and external.
• Undertake other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to lime.
Person Specification
• Bachelor of Commerce in Management. Finance or Accounting from a recognized institution
• Qualified and Registered Accountant with relevant Professional body in Kenya
• Eight (8) year’s work experience, two (2) years of which in a mid-level managerial role in a similar from organization
