JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
• To deliver assigned Trade Finance business and revenue target through development, implementation and marketing of trade finance products to existing and new clients directly and via RMs in order to maximize customer profitability by provision of innovative and value added financing while at the same time reducing the risk to the bank.
• Managing relationships with customers and coordinating with all internal departments on day today trade finance business.
• To structure trade finance transactions to ensure risks are identified and mitigated in line with the Banks policies.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development
• To grow structured trade business and achieve set income targets.
• Identify trade finance opportunities and structure transactions in line with customer’s needs.
• Development of risks and mitigation structures for trade deals originated.
• Maintain an up to date schedule of stocks for collateral financed by the Bank under Structured Trade Finance arrangement.
• Provide support to the various business units (Retail, SME and Corporate) on Trade Finance.

Operations/Compliance
• Ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory requirements
• Maintaining continuous review of business operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Periodical review of trade finance documentations and initiate necessary changes to be in line with the industry.
• Analyze and prepare CMA reports for structured commodity finance.
Customer Service
• To create awareness of trade finance product by organizing marketing campaigns
• Create and sustain a team culture that encourages others to provide the quality of service essential to high performance
• Ensure that structures, systems and resources required to effectively service trade customers are in place
• Ensure priority is given to customers (internal & external) and also ensure delivery of high quality
• services which meet their needs i.e meeting laid out SLAS
• Coordinate activities aimed at providing the customer with his requirements and delivering value to the customer always

Qualifications and Experience
• Business related Degree from a recognized institution.
• 7 years cognate banking experience, 4 of which must have been in the trade finance of a bank.
• Relevant certifications in trade finance and general knowledge in back-office operations will be added advantage
• Possess excellent analytical skills, be open minded and able to identify alternative solutions and business opportunities

• Must be self- driven, results and solution oriented, proactive and have an in-depth knowledge of
banking and operations.
• Ability to evaluate priorities of clients and meet their expectations.
• Strong report preparations skills.
• Highly skilled in excel and power point.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Prioritize tasks according to importance and deadline and adjust priorities as situations change.
• Focus time and effort on key tasks to be efficient.
• Use sound methods to plan and track work, appointments, and commitments. Evaluate progress on tasks and adjust work style as needed.
• Meet and exceed deadlines through efficiency.
• Acquire and apply new knowledge relevant to the role, keep abreast of policies, procedures and guidelines relating to the role
