Overview
As a Director, Impact & Insights at Teach For All, you will engage in the following and/or similar activities:
Set Vision and Strategy
• Develop the Network Learning function’s data and learning strategy, including data dashboards, in consultation with key stakeholders across the organization, including identifying strategic learning questions and the data/evidence needed to answer them, as well as defining the systems, processes, and routines required to understand progress and to drive continuous improvement
• Ensure that the data/evidence collected by the Network Learning function meets the reporting requirements of key stakeholders, including Teach For All’s board and funders, and supports organization-wide data strategy and monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts
Manage Execution of Strategy
• Partner with the Senior Associate, Impact & Insights and colleagues on the Network Operations team to ensure efficient and effective collection and management of data in organizational data storage systems (e.g., Salesforce) in accordance with the articulated data strategy
• Ensure that members of the Network Learning function are able to easily access and use data to understand progress and drive continuous improvement. This includes, but is not limited to building and refining dashboards, providing analysis around key function-level strategic questions, and fostering a data-driven learning culture within the function
• Partner with members of the Network Learning team to develop short- and longer-term impact measurement plans, including identifying how best to assess the impact of a given type of learning experience
• Manage the function-level process and key stakeholders to engage in reflection and learning activities (defined by the data and learning strategy) thought partner and, at times, contribute to the execution of team-level reflection and learning processes.
• Collaborate with members of Network Learning to develop and disseminate data-driven insights and stories which illustrate progress and impact
• Ensure that the Network Learning function’s data and learning is captured and contributing to organizational and network level conversations and can be leveraged for reporting on progress and impact
• Coach the Senior Associate, Impact & Insights around execution of the data strategy
• Represent the Network Learning function’s perspective and, at times, influence stakeholders across the organization
Lead Special Projects
• At times, lead on or represent the Network Learning function on special projects related to collecting and analyzing data. For example, leading an agile project team responsible for defining, collecting, and analyzing data related to our network’s annual Global Conference.
As the ideal candidate, you will bring:
• 7-10 years of monitoring and evaluation and/or consulting experience preferred, including experience using quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, analyzing data to generate trends and insights, developing and driving execution of a data and learning strategy, and developing others’ monitoring and learning skills and mindsets
• Demonstrated ability to build systems, processes, and rituals that serve the needs of a diverse set of stakeholders, promote a data-driven culture, and support change management
• Proven results in collaborating with, influencing, and coaching others throughout various phases of a project/initiative, with a genuine interest in supporting others to improve their data and learning practices
• Familiarity with data systems and analysis tools (e.g., Salesforce, PowerBI) and an aptitude for independently learning other tools
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues globally, including a high volume of virtual engagement (i.e., conference calls, social media, virtual collaboration tools) and regular calls during non-traditional working hours
• Exceptional strategic thinking and reasoning skills, with an orientation toward creativity and innovation, while also valuing cultural responsiveness and institutional knowledge
• Excellent conceptual thinking skills, including an ability to put parameters on unclear concepts
• Professional fluency in English required; fluency in a second language is preferred
Additional desirable skills/experiences (not required):
• Experience developing indicators and monitoring data related to diversity, equity and inclusion
• Prior experience as a staff member of one of Teach For All’s network partners
