Chai SACCO Society Ltd is a leading Savings and CreditCo-operative Society Ltd with fully fledged branches in Nairobi, Litein, Mombasa, Nkubu and Kisii, and Satellite offices in Olenguruone, Silibwet, Othaya & Kutus.
We are looking for self-driven and results-oriented person to fill the following position: –
Loan Recovery Manager
Job Title: Loan Recovery Manager
Status 3 Years Contract (Renewable on performance)
Duty Station Headquarters
Reporting to Head of Finance
Division/ Department Finance
Position Supervises Loan Recovery Officers

Purpose of the Job
The overall purpose of the job is to oversee the operations of the loan recovery section and ensure policies are adhered to with an aim of improving SACCO’s liquidity and PAR.

Managerial Roles and Responsibilities
• Developing, documenting, implementing and maintaining and recovery strategy.
• Identifying, assessing and evaluating risk areas in recovery and making appropriate recommendation for improved collections of SACCO’s funds
• Identifying key risks that are associated with collaterals, assessing those risks, and establishing the best practices to counter and ensure effective collections.
• Working with other players in the market with a view to enforcing recoveries from members with default
• Preparing accurate and timely monthly reports, clearly indicating performance and delinquency levels.
• Loan default management – ensure timely collection and recovery of Society’s funds
• Refer matters to the Co-operative tribunal process, participation and provision of required documents/information.
• Management of CRB listing and ensure loans are listed appropriately, information sharing and reference
• Debt collection management including effective allocation of accounts for debt collection, reviewing debt collection performance both internal and external and making necessary recommendations.
• Operational Roles and Responsibilities
• Ensuring the loan recovery officers adhere to the default management policy on recoveries
• Supervise and advise the recovery officers on any matters regarding recoveries
iii. Timely submission of all loan’s recovery reports
• Liaising with debt collectors, auctioneers and lawyers on accounts that have been handed over
• Managing escalated customer inquiries and complaints pertaining to loans recoveries
• Approving of loan restructure and reschedule of loans
vii. Oversee bimonthly recovery meetings for all branches
viii. Supervise on status update of member accounts
Hold monthly meetings with the management and board on recovery related matters.
III. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Specifications
a Education
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
• Master’s degree is an added advantage

b. Skills Required
• Professional accounting qualification; CPA (K)/ACCA/ACA/CFA
• Comply with chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya by obtaining necessary documentation
• Judgment and decision-making ability
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact
• Knowledge and experience of working with accounting packages

Minimum Experience Required
• Minimum Five (5) years’ experience in a similar position.
• Successful candidates will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the constitution of Kenya by obtaining the relevant documentation.

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
