Specific responsibilities
• Responsible for the implementation of Graduation projects, responsible for internal/external coordination, for planning, monitoring; to consult/request for adequate technical support, capacity building, ...
• Support the consideration and inclusion of market-based programming and use this in response analysis.
• Responsible for the implementation of projects supporting economic and financial inclusion for refugees and host communities, including supporting the creation and/or growth of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), savings groups/schemes, cooperatives or other relevant structures and systems.
• Gather and analyze food security and livelihoods-related data from target or proposed target populations, as part of integrated or joint assessments, and use this in response analysis.
• Review current SOPs for Self Help group formation for TVET leaners and SOPs for cash grant processes and develop others deemed necessary
• Properly plan and manage cash grant processes for MSMEs and TVET and ensure timely cash grant disbursements to the TVET graduates/MSMEs
• Coordinate market linkages/connections with external stakeholders and markets
• Responsible for the implementation of projects focusing on livelihood protection and promotion through environmentally sensitive and commercially viable skill-building and market linkages for refugees and host communities.
• Active participation in LFS technical coordination, with a focus on Emergency, Food Security responses and Livelihoods protection and promotion support in hard-to-reach areas.
• Closely coordinate with all the other sectors and cross-thematic areas (including digital approach, gender, environmental and nutrition sensitive considerations) to maximize on integrated programming and promote durable solutions.
• Responsible for the implementation of the safe programming principles embedded in all LFS activities.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Preferably in the following: Developmental studies, Business Management/ Economics or Social sciences.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in managing and implementing livelihoods and food security
• Experience in Economics inclusion/graduation and TVET projects in INGOs will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge and skills in cash-based interventions, and market-based programmes
• Experience in external and internal coordination
• Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Context related skills, knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Kenya
• Experience working in Humanitarian INGOs in Kenya
