Amref International University ( AMU ) is an accredited institution of higher learning focused on health sciences and is fully owned by Amref Health Africa. The University is founded on the experience and intellect of Amref Health Africa, which is reputed with over BU years of quality and innovative community health systems management and development interventions. lts predecessor, the Amref International Training Centre (AITC) has shaped Public and Community Health training and nurtured health leaders and practitioners in Africa for over 40 years.

The vision of AMIU is to be a leading Health Sciences University of excellence in developing transformational health leaders and practitioners who inspire lasting health change in Africa. It is located along Langata Road (opposite Wilson Airport), Nairobi. Kenya.

The University currently has two Institutes: The Institute of Research, Innovation and Consultancy and the School of Health Sciences. The School comprises the Departments of: Community Health Practice, Nursing, Laboratory Sciences. Health Professions Education, Health Systems Management and Development and Continuing Professional Development
