Project Overview and Role:
Funded under the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through a cooperative agreement with the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Palladium Development and Consultancy Kenya Ltd (Palladium Kenya) anticipates 5-year funding to support the Kenya Ministry of Health, county governments and healthcare service delivery partners to implement technological innovations in health information systems. These innovations include the scale up of electronic medical records systems (EMRs) for clinical decision support and improved patient care, the enhancement of the Kenya National Data Warehouse (NDW), a centralized data repository of data from EMRs for analysis and reporting, the development of an interoperability layer to support the exchange of data across systems, the enhancement of mHealth solutions and numerous other innovations including patient identification and informatics solutions to support health surveillance.

Position Summary
The Junior Data Analyst will support the Data Analyst and analytics team to develop information products for routine and non-routine use by stakeholders at national, county and facility level.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support data mapping (including accurate mapping of facilities and partners), data quality assessments and feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
• Implement sustainable strategies to improve quantity (improved reporting rates) and quality of available data in the DWH.
• Support data analysis during evaluations and studies using data from different sources including the DWH.
• Support the documentation of data management practices for the DWH indicators.
• Support the development of dashboards including visualization.
• Support product management team to disseminate data and program improvement information products.
• Work closely with Data Analyst & Information Use team members to develop and disseminate information products.
• Support the development and maintenance of DWH-related documentation and data dictionaries.
• Provide feedback to the BA team, DWH team and Data Analysis & Use team members on the required enhancements to DWAPI to meet stakeholder needs.

Required Qualifications:
• University education in Medical Statistics/Biostatistics, Statistics, Biomathematics or equivalent.
• Completed graduate internship or attachment experience in HIV/TB program in Kenya.
• Proficient and working knowledge in R programming language for data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
• Working knowledge of GIS and data visualization tools such as Power BI is an added advantage.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
