Investment Manager

Key responsibilities include;

Provide a consistently high quality overall operational service to the WI SBG team and WI customers: -

  • Timely communication with investment clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide end to end support for the investments function including the placing, monitoring of orders and settlement of trades in the fixed income and equity market.
  • To ensure growth in company revenue by providing responsive, proactive and efficient services to existing and potential clients to grow market share in the securities industry.
  • Leverage the group’s reach, capabilities, and expertise to add value to both the customer and the Wealth and Investment business
  • Timely processing of documents; CDS and Account opening, KYC, payments, and statement/confirmation requests etc.
  • Ensure strict compliance with laid-down risk management controls and processes.
  • To develop, maintain and build strong long-standing relationships with existing and potential Wealth and Investment Clients and other stakeholders.
  • Maintaining a high level of integrity and ethical standards commensurate with the requirements of market best-practice.
  • Compile Data reports and assist with preparation for internal and external presentations.
  • Responsible for the implementation and adoption (within Branch, Department or Section) of all Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions related requirements contained in policies, procedures and processes. This includes the consideration and approval of PEP on-boarding and continued business engagement in instances where no adverse information is available.
  • Maintaining communication between SBG Securities customers and Operations Teams - in terms of giving updates, maintenance, and compliance duties and responsibilities under the unit.
  • Understanding of the overall risks associated with the CDSC and payment operations and ensuring there are sufficient and effective controls to manage these risks. Understanding the rules and regulations as set out by CDSC Ltd and ensuring adherence.
  • Providing a readily available, service-focused, knowledgeable and experienced point of contact for clients for all CDS Operations.
  • Assist with the SBGs client onboarding process including with preparation of business acceptance documentation.
  • Attending client meetings to represent SBG securities and assisting with meeting actions, minutes and related deliverables.
  • Monitor news flow relating to companies. Provide on-going feedback to investment team.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with other market players mainly licensed members of the NSE, custodians and fund managers
  • Ensure that KYC requirements are met for all customers.
  • Educate clients on existing company policies and procedures as well as basic introduction to the stock market and how it operates.

Qualification and Experience:

  • First Degree in Business Commerce or related field.
  • At least 5 years of operational/Sales / Portfolio Management experience in a securities business or other financial intermediary.
  • A relevant University degree.
  • 3 to 5 years’ banking experience, preferably dealing with high net-worth individuals in a portfolio context.
  • Experience in upholding the highest levels of service.

Professional Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree and ATS/CISI certification will be an added advantage.

 

Manager, Digital Platforms

Key responsibilities include;

Solution design

Provide the feature teams with insights, suggestions and recommendations regarding product, client, business and regulatory requirements, based on data gathering, interpretation and analysis, in order to support decision making and ensure all required needs are met.

Solution vision

  • For each new venture, contribute towards the development of the solution vision, strategy, business case and value proposition in line with the client’s objectives, business needs and external developments to ensure the vision is in line with the client’s objectives and needs. Convey the vision to the feature team to translate the client’s objectives and needs into user stories to create valuable, incremental solutions to client problems.

Data Validation

  • Apply a variety of analytical and presentation techniques, in consultation with Consumer & High Net Worth digital insights and data experts if appropriate, in order to assess the integrity of data from various sources to ensure the provision of accurate, reliable and valid analytics and insights.

Data gathering, insights and analysis

  • Work closely with the product / feature teams(s) to support the gathering, analysis and prioritization of product, client and business data in order to deliver insights into the existing client base, client needs and forthcoming features.

Product backlog

  • Contribute towards the planning and implementation of digital product backlogs by gathering and translating customer needs into product features and epics. Contribute towards translating epics into user stories that are clear, relevant and lead to the required business value.

Sprint backlog

  • Support the preparation of sprint planning meetings and document conclusion to support the definition and commitment to the sprint backlog. Contribute business value in terms of viable and secure software and related documentation by elaborating acceptance criteria, testing content and procedures, and by developing, designing and coding for sprints.

Refinement

  • Lead the gathering and translation of customer needs into product features, requirements, epics for the backlog. Translate epics into stories and stories in detailed planning sessions. Clarify and slice user stories to arrive at sprint ready user stories.

Stakeholder engagement and client experience

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to share information and understand and challenge business decisions, where relevant. Collect and use feedback from customers and stakeholders to help and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships

Leadership

  • Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through purposeful collaboration with feature teams and other stakeholders. Set objectives, manage performance, develop and motivate teams to maximise performance. Coach and intervene when necessary to actively contribute towards overcoming team obstacles.

Capability development

  • Contribute to process improvement sessions such as problem-solving sessions, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives. Evaluate operations and develop proposals for new / improved processes and procedures.

Continuous improvement

  • Build upon technical skills within own area of specialization in order to continually grow personal contribution to the business. Provide technical guidance, support and coaching to other team members in order to share

Professional Qualifications

  • First degree in a relevant field; Banking/Technical degree
  • 8 - 10 years Digital Banking
  • 6 - 8 years Technology/Digitization
  • Demonstrated experience working within software delivery ecosystem. Good knowledge and understanding of hardware and software applications, databases, IT languages, tools, ERP packages.
  • Knowledge of digital and information technologies which may include content management systems, apps, screen technologies, cloud hosting, APIs, open data, analytics and system integration. Product lifecycle experience encompassing the identification, testing, building, launching and optimizing of products and services.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
