Key Responsibilities

Full understanding of all applicable taxation laws, rules and regulations

Ensure compliance with all taxation reporting and filling requirements. This includes preparation and submission of monthly and annual tax returns and making the tax payments by the due dates.
Substantiate all the tax accounts by ensuring that all the bank's tax accounts and entries are upto date and correct on a monthly basis.
Understand the tax procedures in the payments process and confirm the accuracy of tax deductions by the payments team.
Provide first line tax support to business units.
Understand the budgeting process and the tax impact on the budgeted items.
Evaluate and advise on tax implications of proposed or alternative business decisions.
Build relationships and interact with the KRA officers, external advisors and auditors.

Demonstrate accounting and financial information

Understand general financial information and apply it to tax solutions.
Interpret financial information and knowledge of financial systems, financial concepts and ability to apply these to tax solutions.
ability to work with financial auditors and tax advisors, respond to findings and implement recommendations

Understand customer/ clients requirements and proactively seek to satisfy these requirements.
Manage and take responsibility for quality, consistency and continuity of customer service management both within finance and wider bank.

Manage emotions positively, in order to sustain positive relationships with workmates.

Demonstrate Business Etiquette in Oral/written/Telephone communication skills;
Communicate standard work information either verbally or in writing in a clear and concise way- Taking account of audience and readership;

Manage and coordinate external tax advisors

Understand and query the tax advice to align it to business needs.
Implement the tax opinions provided by external advisers.

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting, or related field. CPA or ACCA Finalist or equivalent.

Experience Required

3 to 4 years’ experience in a tax, controls or audit role (2 years experience in a financial institution (areas of working experience would be Financial reporting, payments, reconciliations and controls, risk, internal audit and tax).

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Analysis

Influence decision makers and advise managers on financial processes, control measures, budgets and financial performance.
Perform in depth and more advanced analyses demonstrating the way in which financial ratios, trends, business and value drivers interact
Building, analyzing and interpret numerical and non-numerical data to determine potential risk exposure and statistical inferences to inform business decisions

Strategic Planning and Supporting

Formulate objectives and priorities and implement plans consistent with the long-term interests of the segments in a global environment. The ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities and manage risks.
Understanding the line-of-sight between strategy and segment implementation and translating the organizational strategy into specific decisions and actions to ensure the strategy implementation.
Aligns resources to effectively execute against the strategic direction.

Drive Delivery of Results

Proactively identify business opportunities or barriers to business performance and addresses them and take accountability for improving the business.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency around the achievement of stretching business goals.

Financial and Accounting Control

Design control measures and checks in accounting and financial processing activities to mitigate risks of errors, omissions and fraud.

Managing key internal and external relationships

Fostering relationships that benefit the Segments as well as an individual’s effectiveness and efficiency. More specifically, contacting others and strengthening relationships

Product Management

Review & maintain NIR mapping & product structure blueprints on a regular basis & alignment by country, by collaborating & leveraging from product teams to understand pricing, volumes & use information to provide financial analysis & insight
Identify & develop new product structures to be set up & facilitate the process implementation by supporting Segments, specifically regarding new accounting initiatives & business case template support.

Technology & Architecture

Identify GAPs in product automated mapping that will improve the financial & MIS reporting capabilities, working with GBM & core banking teams, initiate recommendations for improvement & manage the implementation of recommendations.

Cost management and control

Champion cost management and control by benchmarking information against competitors and creating more effective cost controls.
Identify and undertake cost reduction initiatives to achieve the strategic Cost to Income Ratio (CTIR).
Constantly review and periodically revise, in conjunction with business units, profit/cost allocation rates.

Compliance

Responsible for the implementation and adoption within department of all compliance, Anti-money laundering and sanctions related requirements contained in policies, procedures and processes. This includes the engagement in instances where no adverse information is available.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting, or related field. Master of Business Administration in Commerce is an added advantage

Experience Required

5 to 7 years’ significant experience in advising business leaders on the financial aspects of their decision making process, preferably in a financial services environment

Senior Manager, Innovation GTM and Commercialization


Key Responsibilities

Owns accountability for defined scorecard metrics and key performance indicators for the new solutions portfolio
Lead the development of Stanbic’s commercialization enablement strategy, in three-horizons; short-, medium, and long-term, drive accelerated customer acquisition and growth amongst the existing customer base, across new solutions and capabilities portfolio
Drive the development of overarching go-to-market goals and commercialisation strategy to ensure Stanbic’s success in driving inorganic growth, leveraging new revenue streams
Deliver commercial initiatives required to execute our inorganic growth strategy, including developing templated, repeatable go-to-market best practice, playbooks and frameworks, to enable successful performance across teams (client segments, client solutions and innovation teams) and the portfolio
Solve business problems and develop business solutions; leverage product/market knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to identify underlying causes and propose creative solutions to drive greater portfolio performance across new solutions and capabilities
Drive insights at individual product-level portfolio performance including primacy, revenue and solutions penetration, including the identification of insights that will impact marketing and business planning decision-making
Track the efficacy of commercial performance against strategic objectives and growth targets, through building and providing visibility of data-driven insights via monthly dashboards and scorecards
Champion the new products portfolio across the organisation, ensuring client-facing teams and beyond, have the knowledge, assets and support needed to rapidly grow product penetration and revenue
Consistently drive market insights to map segmentation, solutions positioning, customer needs/pain points and solution gaps, market practices and behaviours to drive internal sales centric initiatives to ensure a level of product knowledge and proficiency
Maintain effective communication and relationships with a variety of cross-function constituents throughout the highly matrixed organizational structure

Experience Required

10+ years’ experience in business strategy, business planning/finance, marketing strategy, product management, sales enablement, business development or experience managing and expanding a product/solution portfolio and driving demand generation and pipeline acceleration within a complex (e.g., multinational or matrixed) organization
