QHSSE Trainee- Kisumu

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily QHSSE checks in the assigned areas.
  • Review adherence to QHSSE tracking docs (5S, PPE, fly infestation, product specifications, dispatch docs etc.) on a daily basis and provide guidance to crew leads and other operators.
  • Provide daily updates on blocks and progress towards improvement projects to the QHSSE associates.
  • Measure and report on daily/weekly performance in the respective areas.
  • Identify and share opportunities for improvement/ gaps within the QHSSE docket with the operations teams.
  • Closely work with Operations teams to ensure adherence to QHSSE guidelines.
  • Respond to requests pertaining to QHSSE areas quickly and efficiently.
  • Contribute your point of view towards ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Work with existing vendors to promote QHSSE aspects within the site as per the set instructions and procedures.
  • Follow the given checklists and documents to measure and record data to be used for analysis for QHSSE reporting and analysis.
  • Actively participate in improvement projects with other teams within the different sections on site.
  • Proactively share new ideas to your manager and follow up to bring them to fruition
  • Propose and implement changes to existing QHSSE Policies, SOPs, WIs and other relevant documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, safety, industrial hygiene or a related field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with Google Suites, MS Office etc. Duties and Responsibilities

Security Guard- Kisumu

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patrol plant/ premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, perimeter wall and gates.
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
  • Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
  • Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
  • Escort individuals to specified locations and to provide personal protection.
  • Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering

Qualifications

  • High School Certificate (KCSE),
  • Diploma in a security related course
  • Recommendation letter from the chief(mandatory)
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience of working as a Security Guard. 
  • Police Good Conduct. Personal Skills and qualities 
  • Handling insecure environment
