Internal Auditor

Job Description

The role supports the Head of Audit in assisting the Board and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of Faulu Microfinance Bank.The role will be responsible for execution of audit assignments at Faulu bank including the branch network across the country.

  • To execute audits for Faulu Microfinance Bank.
  • To deliver multiple audit assignments in accordance with the Group Internal Audit (GIA) methodology.
  • Participate in development and implementation of risk-based audit plans.
  • To understand the risk profile of the business, gain and apply extensive industry knowledge in the various business lines.
  • Provide independent opinion on risk & control environment for the various business units or processes.
  • Engage with business unit process owners to agree on audit deliverables (risk assessments, control workshops and adequacy assessments) and timeframes and issues findings in relation to work done.
  • Challenge and influence the relevant executives to improve the governance, risk and control culture.
  • Specific focus will be placed on providing assurance on management of credit risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, compliance risk including effectiveness of AML/CFT program. 
  • Champion data analytics and continuous auditing in all assignments.
  • Conduct/assist in conducting Information systems audits as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as branch managers, regional business managers and heads of departments.
  • Meet key customers to gain a better understanding of business expectations.
  • Provide clients with an understanding of audit expectations.
  • Contribute to developmental interventions and on the job coaching.

Senior Manager, Credit Administration

Job Description

Contribute to the overall risk management strategy of maintaining/ reducing the level of risk as business expands

  • To manage the credit function efficiently and effectively in order to ensure that it is a profitable line of business and that the organization is not exposed to risk, maintaining a quality loan book.
  • Credit policy formulation and review.
  • Risk Management: Credit risk analysis and evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance to the agreed SLA/TAT for disbursement and other issues relating to both internal and external customers
  • Monitoring and administration of credit performance through reports and returns from branches.
  • Evaluation of customer needs and activities of the competition in liaison with marketing department and the branches with regard to Credit.
  • Management Information System (MIS) including statutory returns to the Central Bank
  • Relationship Management.
  • Branch support and carry out inspection on credit/lending issues.
  • Overall control of the lending book.
  • Project relevant trends that affect the collectibles of the portfolio and isolate potential problem areas
  • Monitor loan repayments globally and initiate/recommend course of action
  • Ensuring that the security documentation and other necessary documentation are obtained and completed in all respects before draw down of the facility
  • The initiating, setting up and maintaining of a system of lodgment and withdrawal of securities
  • Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time by Management.

Credit Manager (Branches)

Job Description

The role holder shall be responsible for credit origination, underwriting and administration in the regions

  • Monitor and give weekly progress updates on regional credit performance
  • Weekly reviews of PAR per branch.
  • Follow up on daily disbursement of all loans that have been fully approved and signed
  • Processing of work in the right procedures to prevent creation of errors.
  • All loan forms, error correction forms, queries and other GTF to be processed daily
  • Proper filling of all data processed for easy access of them when needed
  • Act in accordance with the set regulations and credit policies.
  • Keeping the SLAs related to loan processing.
  • Zero error rate - accuracy in loan processing
  • Observe deadlines for reporting
  • Training branch teams on credit processes including underwriting, credit administration and collections
  • Do any other duties that may be assigned by the Senior Business Growth & Development Manager

Education

  • Bachelors Degree (B): Finance And Banking
