Software Developer Consultant

Responsibilities  

  • Implement prototypes and software components
  • Develop technical content for the developer community including sample code, blog articles and whitepapers
  • Write extensive sample code that demonstrates API usage and best practice
  • Provide technical (API programming) advice to the community on various channels such as Stack Overflow
  • Help resolve technical issues including communicating the functions of a particular API, assisting with the software code and programming-related API questions
  • Use knowledge of Autodesk product APIs to assist partners with their business objectives of providing value-added software for their customers. Assist with their software design by providing them with technical information on Autodesk APIs and technologies
  • Work on state-of-the-art technology to bring 3D content creation applications to the browser
  • Work as an integral member of a high-performance team making an important individual contribution

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 2 years and above experience
  • The ability to implement efficient and maintainable code.
  • A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things to the next level
  • Ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic, fluid environment
  • Detail oriented and passionate about building software and technology
  • Fluent in English. Written and verbal English skills are extremely important
  • Ability to be patient and communicate across cultures
  • Enjoy interacting with people – including one-on-one conversations and presenting to audiences at conferences
  • Experience in web application development, REST and JavaScript
  • Full-stack web development experience, (Experience in Programming Languages like: Java, PHP, HTML, C++, CSS, Java Script, Node.js, Angular.js, ASP.NET etc)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Git or equivalent revision control systems
  • Knowledge about web development related technology (Node.js or .NET or Java)
  • Knowledge about typical web frameworks (React or Angular2 or Vue.js)
  • Theoretical knowledge about reactive and functional programming
  • A background in computer graphics with both theoretical and practical expertise. Comfortable and effective working in new areas that require experimentation and rapid problem solving

Media Liaison Officer

Responsibilities

  • With guidance from the Head of Development Communication, the Media Liaison officer will implement the annual communications plan, which includes:
    • Grow Lewa’s PR value organically through the media.
    • Manage press and media inquiries.
    • Organize press visits to Lewa.
    • Act as a link between global media and Lewa.
    • Ensure Lewa’s thought leadership is captured well by the media.
  • With guidance from the Head of Development Communication, contribute to the design and production of communications collateral including handouts, brochures, and photographs.
  • Grow the Lewa brand as a thought leader in the conservation space through media and PR.
  • Create and promote visibility in support of the organization’s brand and reputation.
  • Together with the Head of Development Communication, plan, implement, and manage public relations events and evaluate their success
  • Serve as main point person for media inquiries, coordinate interviews with staff, and maintain a centralized list of journalists and media contacts.
  • Work closely with other departments to increase the visibility of their projects, programs, and activities through media and PR opportunities.
  • With oversight of Head of Development Communication, draft press releases, manage media contact database, and support media outreach.
  • Maintain and circulate organization-wide style guide to ensure consistent messaging and branding for all external communications. Produce talking points and standard responses to frequently asked questions.
  • Organize photo and video assets and ensure proper photo credits and recognition, and
  • Any other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Communications degree from a recognized university.
  • 5 years of experience in journalism, communication, and experience or related field.
  • Knowledge of conservation work, both in Kenya and globally, and updated with global and national wildlife policies.
  • Experience in developing a variety of products used for fundraising and information-sharing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
