Senior Technical Advisor - Power Africa EDEECA
The senior technical advisor is responsible for providing overall technical leadership in achieving EDEECA’s expected results. This position will be based in East Africa, with frequent regional travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan required. This position is contingent on contract award to DT Global.
Primary Responsibilities:
Providing technical leadership in delivery of expected results.
Managing, supervising and coordinating technical services, prioritize the activities in-country, and providing thought leadership and technical support as needed to accelerate a support activity.
Regularly liaising with the Power Africa Coordinator’s Office, USAID missions, and other USG agencies, as appropriate.
Maintaining strong relationships with relevant regional organizations, such as the African Development Bank, and with private sector companies and host country governments.
Education & Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum ten (10) years of management experience implementing energy programs. Africa work experience is preferred.
Excellent analytical abilities and track-record of effectively communicating complex issues and recommendations to policymakers, regulators, and non-technical decision-makers.
Demonstrated ability to promptly address ad hoc requests in a similar capacity.
Chief of Party - Power Africa EDEECA
The chief of party is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the EDEECA program. This position will be based in East Africa, with frequent regional travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan required. This position is contingent on contract award to DT Global.
Primary Responsibilities:
Providing overall vision, management, and strategic leadership to the Activity.
Identifying adjustments in scope and operations to ensure that the project adapts to changes in need and context.
Supervising and empowering all personnel.
Establishing effective partnerships with other U.S. government agencies, African partners, development partners, non-governmental organizations, and a wide variety of other stakeholders.
Effectively communicating in large public settings, as well as with senior government officials.
Ensuring that managerial, administrative, and financial procedures comply with USAID policies and procedures.
Education & Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum ten (10) years of management experience implementing energy programs on- and beyond-the-grid. Sub-Saharan Africa work experience is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, diplomacy, and leadership skills, including the ability to manage high-level relationships.
Proven ability to form collaborative relationships with intergovernmental, government representatives and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a dynamic team of professionals across large geographies.
Prior experience effectively managing large, complex activities and achieving performance objectives.
