Procurement Intern 

Internship’s goals and learning objectives:

This internship is designed to provide a practical work experience to students or recent graduates in Procurement & Supplies Management or a related field. The intern will work together with the Procurement team in fulfilling the day to day duties of the department.

Proposed activities:  

The Procurement Intern will have the opportunity to learn and work on how to:

  • Facilitate filing of contract documents and ensure completeness of files per their respective checklist.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, solicitation documents and contracts.
  • Assist in bid evaluation and price/quotations comparison analysis.
  • Assist in the receipt, verification and acceptance of goods and services procured.

 Learning outcomes (how the Intern’s performance will be evaluated):  

The Intern will be evaluated based on outcomes of the assigned activities as well as on feedback from colleagues.

Required Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree qualification in Purchasing & Supplies Management or its equivalent.
  • Recent/Fresh graduates (at most, graduated in the past two years)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Ms. Office applications especially word and excel.
  • Drive to be a self-starter.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize.

IT Intern

Internship’s goals and learning objectives:

This internship is designed to provide a practical work experience to students or recent graduates in information technology or a related field. The intern will work together with the IT officer in fulfilling the day-to-day duties of the department.

 Proposed activities:  

The Intern will have the opportunity to learn on-

  • Responding to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems and help develop solutions.
  • Performing minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs.
  • Supporting basic end-user support on technical issues covering Mac/PC hardware, Printers, scanners, computer peripherals, Mobile devices (iOS, Android) and network connectivity.
  • Supporting PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the IT officer.

The Intern will be evaluated based on outcomes of the assigned activities as well as on feedback from colleagues.

Clinical/Community Programs Intern

The intern will:

  • To help the intern gain valuable experience to aid in transitioning into the workforce.
  • To encourage the intern to apply the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to realistic situations professional accountants face.

Internship’s goals and learning objectives:

This internship is designed to provide practical work experience to students or recent graduates from Clinical/Community field or related field. The intern will work together with the program team in fulfilling the day-to-day duties.

Proposed activities:  

The Intern will have the opportunity to learn and work on how to:

  • Support the program officers and the M&E officers in the preparation of logistics for off-site activities such as trainings, meetings.
  • During the mentioned activities (meetings, trainings, and workshops), support in participant registration and verification
  • Post activity, support in the compilation of MPESA outputs for the program and M&E teams including verification of the activity to be in line with the approved WAR and budget.
  • Accompany with the program officer in conducting based SSV to facility and community sites.
  • Participate in activities such as PPSGs, MDTs, data review meetings at the site level.
  • Document and report on weekly activities undertaken.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by team.

Required Experience

  • An undergraduate Degree or diploma in health-related or community related field.
  • Fresh /recent graduates (at most, graduated in the past 2 years)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize.

Community Programs Intern

The intern will:

  • Gain valuable experience to aid in transitioning into the work force.
  • Acquire DREAMS & OVC project implementation and oversight.
  • Acquire relevant experience and skills making them ready for hire.

Internship’s goals and learning objectives:

This internship is designed to provide a practical work experience to students or recent graduates in Community related course or a related field. The intern will work together with the Program team in fulfilling the day-to-day duties of the department.  

 Proposed activities:  

The Intern will have the opportunity to learn and work on how to:

  • Program OVC & DREAMS project.
  • Build capacity of LIPs and community volunteers.
  • Establish sustainable partnerships with County government for resources leverage and effective activity implementation.
  • Support the program officers and the M&E officers in the preparation of logistics for off-site activities such as trainings, meetings.

 Learning outcomes (how the Intern’s performance will be evaluated):  

The Intern will be evaluated based on outcomes of the assigned activities as well as on feedback from colleagues.
