Overview
Responsibilities
• Assess and manage patients
• Attend to emergency cases
• Educate patients on wellness prevention and early detection of risk factors for disease(s)
• Participate in establishing various planning parameters for addressing referral cases received at AKUH,N
• Participate in discussions with relevant members of the clinical care team to enable better integration of patient care activities
• Initiate discussions with consultants and colleagues to enable integration of clinical research activities, shared knowledge, institutional quality improvement and patient wellness activities
• Work with outreach clinics identified within the Nairobi area to improve case volumes and mix
• Attend journal clubs to discuss literature concerning patients care and new developments in medicine

Requirements
• Should have at least 5 years Neurosurgical training
• Must have Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(M.B.Ch.B) or equivalent
• Be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
• Have completed FCS-COSECSA training
• Certificate in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Demonstrate competency and dexterity with all equipment utilized in the hospital environment
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, compassion and respect for diversity and applies ethical principles appropriately
• Seeks and accepts advice, and adheres to deadlines

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
