JOB DETAILS:

Purpose of the Role
The ideal candidate is responsible for developing in-house software, managing systems performance, and providing technical support.

Role Accountabilities
1. Provide technical operations and development of new and existing software and web application projects.
2. Provide technical direction for development, design and system integration.
3. Ensure that all IT systems are robust, available, effective and secure.
4. Execute development plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
5. Communicate complex technical information to non- technical people in a comprehensible form.
6. Identify improvements to the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the mission.
7. Identifying and fixing defects.
8. Assist with the planning of budgets related to technical operations and delivery of hardware, software and web application projects.
9. Design and update software database and provide system reports.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
1. An undergraduate degree in Computer science/ IT or a related field.
2. Working knowledge with Linux desktop technologies.
3. Working knowledge in Server-side languages, such as PHP, Python, NodeJS or VueJS
4. Proficient in MySQL
5. Experience working on a large scale React (with TypeScript) project
6. A history of open source contributions will be an added advantage
7. 3 years Relevant work experience
8. Demonstrable experience of work on modern web applications
9. A strong understanding of HTML, CSS with SCSS and JavaScript
10. Experience with Javascript components libraries
11. Experience with TypeScript
12. Experience with responsive user interfaces for a wide range of devices and browsers
13. Experience with Git or other version control systems
14. Awareness of SEO best practice
15. Consideration of accessibility in all aspects of your work
16. A strong understanding of web performance in complex user interfaces
17. Ability to interact with UX, designers and server-side developers
18. Curiosity about technology and a thirst to learn
