Established in 2012, our work spreads across the Horn of Africa and the East Africa region with offices in Nairobi – Kenya and Mogadishu – Somalia. We are looking to hire a dedicated ICT/Communications specialist to join our team. The Specialist will support our internal and external communications strategy, write and disseminate publicity material, respond to inquiries from the website and public media, coordinate promotional events, offer software and hardware support within the office & manage our online visibility. To succeed as our Communications Officer, you should be able to think creatively, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A Bachelor’s Degree with experience as a Communications Officer who understands Finance and is IT savvy or of equivalent experience in a similar role is strongly desired. .

  Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audience.
• Write, edit, and distribute relevant content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other material that communicates the organization’s activities, products and/or services.
• Developing and managing events
• Respond to online inquiries, and act as a spokesperson for the organization.
• Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand, and coordinate publicity events as required.
• Maintain records of online coverage and collate analytics and metrics.
• Proficiency in design and publishing software.
• Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in ICT.
• Maintain office computers on software and hardware issues.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Finance, ICT or related field.
• Minimum of 2 – 5 years’ relevant experience in a communications role.
• Knowledge of desktop publishing software (Illustrator/Photoshop) is an added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills..
