JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a skilled HR officer to oversee all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes in our Farms located in Mwea, Embu and Kilimambogo. You will provide assistance to managers and employees with respect to HR policies and procedures including: recruitment, payments, benefits, employee relations, disciplinary actions and the health and safety program. This position reports to the Head of Human resources.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Delivering key HR initiatives across the HR spectrum, including employee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, restructuring, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward, employee relations, employee engagement and performance management.
• Conducting recruitment/exit interviews and record them accordingly.
• Counsels and guides managers on appropriate performance management measures; assists managers in writing corrective action memos and other documentation; attends or conducts corrective action sessions as warranted; performs necessary follow-up.
• Supporting the development of performance review and bonus allocation process.
• Onboard new employees, collect information and documents, Facilitating newcomers joining formalities
• Organizing and safe keeping of all employee files and documents, ensuring nothing is missing
• Handling and assisting with attendance, leave, payroll processes of all employees including casuals
• Making sure that staff get paid correctly and on time
• Reviewing & updating job descriptions for all positions regularly
• Liaising with all government agencies to ensure adherence to compliance laws and regulations
• Follow up on confirmation of employees, renewing employment contracts etc.
• Communicating and explaining the organization's HR policies to the employees
• Handling administration of all casual labor.
• Preparing and submitting all relevant HR letters/documents/certificates/ attendance as per the requirement in consultation with the management.
• Handling all employee enquiries & grievances.
• Dispute settlements according to labor law, company policies & compliance guidelines.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Human Resources.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Academic qualification:
• A diploma in Human Resources Management or a business related field from a recognized institution.
• Must be a member of IHRM.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel)
Professional experience:
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience in using HRIS
• Experience working in a commercial farm is desired.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated a strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively at all levels within the company with maturity and discretion.
• Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and good record-keeping skills is a must
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety act is an asset.
