Chai SACCO Society Ltd is a leading Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Ltd with fully fledged branches in
Nairobi, Litein, Mombasa, Nkubu and Kisii, and Satellite offices in Olenguruone, Silibwet, Othaya & Kutus. We are looking for self-driven and results-oriented person to fill the following position: –

Job Title: Head of ICT
Status 3 Years Contract (Renewable on performance)

Position Supervises Database & Systems Manager
System Support Administrator
Purpose of the Job
To plan and coordinate ICT activities of the Sacco, to ensure timely availability and reliability of required services.
1. Managerial Roles and Responsibilities
2. Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensure that ICT facilities are aligned with the needs, Mission and Vision
2. Responsible for the Society’s MIS
3. Coordinate implementing all computerized information systems within Chai Sacco network.
4. Implement computer systems in accordance with the business strategies
5. Advising and guiding users on ICT requests and proposed purchase of ICT related items
6. Liaise with the policy makers to determine hardware, software and access requirements for Chai Sacco staff
members
7. Consult with the management team, advising and assisting in design and training of Chai Sacco staff on the
implementation of new ICT procedures, software or ICT changes within the Society’s core business.
8. Create computer use best practices for Chai Sacco staff and coordinating sensitization on the same within the
Society.
9. Introduce new online platforms and technologies such as e-learning, online discussion forums, conference
registration etc
10. Coordinate the development, implementation and expansion of social media strategy to raise the Society’s
profile and market its activities
11. Ensure that all systems are integrated and operate efficiently in accordance with global IT guidelines.
12. Coordinate training activities in office automation, hardware and software installation.
13. Participate in preparation of budgets and implementation of effective controls to achieve financial targets
14. Responsible for the provision of ICT infrastructure services including desktop, laptops etc
15. Formulation and review of disaster recovery plan
16. Ensure proper maintenance of all electronic records
17. Arranges for software maintenance services for packages and application systems as well as repairs and
servicing of hard wares
18. Formulation and implementation of ICT Policy
19. Operational Roles and Responsibilities
20. Ensure all ICT requirements for The Society’s staff are met; this involves creating a standard operating
environment (SOE).
1. Network (WAN and LAN) and telephony administration
iii. Participating in preparation and implementation of the Strategic Plan
1. Supervising, training and appraising staff
2. Preparation of departmental budget
3. Prepare management reports as required
III. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Specifications
a. Education
• Master’s degree in information technology or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
• CISA Certification
Skills Required
• Technical knowledge of Information Technology
• Technical knowledge of hardware installation
• Experience in managing content and production for high traffic websites
• Conceptual, analytical and creative skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have the drive to continually improve processes and seek new challenges
Minimum Experience Required
Minimum Five (5) years’ experience in a similar set up
Successful candidates will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the constitution of Kenya by obtaining the relevant documentation.

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
