JOB DETAILS:
The Head of Girls’ Games, reporting to the Director of Sport, is a vital member of the Academic and Co-curricular Team.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach PE & Games throughout the Senior School. They should be qualified to lead at least 2 of the core girls Games activities (Basketball, football, hockey, athletics, netball).
They will take the strategic lead on developing the PE and Games program for girls and promote PE and sporting opportunities for girls within the Senior School.
As a full boarding school, St Andrew’s is committed to providing a vibrant co-curricular and boarding program to which all staff contribute.
The successful candidate would be an academic tutor and attached to a specific boarding house for duties. This role would suit a dynamic, focused graduate wanting to be mentored in a successful department, whilst having strategic independence and responsibility.

Remuneration
There is a generous overall remuneration package as detailed below
• Salary: The successful applicant will be placed on the Turi Pay Scale.
• School fees (where applicable): there is a 100% fee remission for staff children throughout the School; places are subject to the School’s normal entry requirements. Fee remission is a taxable benefit.
• Medical care: all members of staff and their families (below 18 yrs) are covered under a comprehensive insurance scheme.
• Pension: the School operates a defined contribution pension scheme in which the employer and employee each contribute 6% of the monthly salary. Withdrawal of the same would be done under the rules laid down by the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA)
• Meals: these are provided during term time as a taxable benefit.
• Facilities: extensive recreational facilities are open to use by staff and their families. The onsite Phoenix Club, serving a wide range of food and beverages, acts as a wonderful social hub for the staff community and their families throughout the year.
Hours of work and holiday entitlement
The role is full-time and includes working evenings and weekends as required. The successful applicant will be expected to take a full and active part in the boarding life of the School. As a British curriculum school, the academic year commences in September and holidays are broadly in line with British independent schools.
