Our client an International Non- Governmental organization seeks to recruit a Head of Finance for its programs in Kenya.
Position Title: Head of Finance - Kenya
Duty Station: Mombasa

Key Accountabilities
• Finance management - responsible for leading and coordinating all financial and accounting management activities, to ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational financial policies & procedures, donor and statutory requirements, payments, receipts and cash management, and ensure completeness and accuracy of Kenya financial accounts.
• Financial reporting - prepare accurate and complete financial reports of the program activities in compliance grant donor requirements.
• Financial Planning and Budgeting – Provide guidance and support to program teams during annual planning and the country program annual budget.
• Grants Management, Reporting and -Oversee the grant administration and finances management and work with project team to produce budget proposals for potential donors.
• Fundraising and Grants process management - Review all grant agreements and contracts and work closely with the fundraising, legal and finance team, to support negotiation and final signature, coordinate grant modifications and extensions, prepare sub‐agreements and regional sub grants, manage sub-awards Ensure that financial reports are and prepare quarterly grant reports for the donor
• Financial Planning and Expenditure monitoring - Supports and reviews the development of financial plans for funding proposals and regularly monitor expenditure against grant agreements.
• Budgetary Control Monitor overall budget management with regular updates to head office management on expenditures and availability of funds
• Cash flow Management and Projection -Ensure projects submit accurate projections through monthly planning and cash transfer requests.
• Internal controls – develop and maintain a sound financial internal control environment and coordinate audits
• Risk Management -ensure the provision of financial performance insight, support for financial planning, funds management and insurance over the financial control environment.
• Team Leadership – manage the finance team

Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor of finance/Accountancy Degree or equivalent accounting qualifications from recognized institutions.
• Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience, of which at least 3 years must be at a senior management level
• Experience and Knowledge of accounting for non-profit organizations and donor regulations are required Experience in monitoring budgets, cash flow management and systems development.
• Demonstrated sound and in-depth knowledge of GAAP, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, and Taxation Law.
• Experience using an ERP system
