JOB DETAILS:
The Role:
As Empower Africa’s Head of Content, you will utilize your communications & management experiences to build out the company’s content team, work with its external branding agency, and develop the content strategies for each of its segmented membership tiers.
• Define Communications strategies, including developing the company’s brand voice, building its strategy for outbound social media content, and developing its methodology for internal engagement to influence how users interact with the Empower Africa Business Network
• Define team’s KPI’s and measure the success of a new content strategy
• Lead process improvements by auditing, revising, and optimizing existing protocols, workflows, and guidelines, including the adoption of internal content tools (e.g. a Content Management System or Digital Asset Management system, process manuals, etc.)
• Work closely with the Growth Team to align content with marketing & customer acquisitions strategies
• Oversee and manage Events Team on content and distribution of company’s online networking and thought leadership events

The Location:
We're a team of passionate and driven individuals living and working remotely across six countries and four continents: Botswana, Kenya, Netherlands, Israel, South Africa, and the USA. As the Head of Content, you will work remotely, with colleagues and stakeholders in multiple geographic locations.

The Requirements:
• 5+ years experience working in a content production or operations role and three years experience in a management or leadership capacity
• In-depth knowledge of project management, resourcing and creative software (e.g. Adobe CC, Monday.com, Jira, etc.), including knowledge of publishing requirements for digital platforms a requirement
• Process-oriented and able to continuously identify opportunities for process improvements to become increasingly efficient and cost-effective
• Experience with content segmentation and localization relative to the various African Business ecosystems
• Strong analytical abilities and decision-making capabilities
• Ability to converse and write in more than one language (French is a plus)
