JOB DETAILS:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Drive and support regional communication and implementation of human resource policies and procedures. This includes managing the disciplinary process from end to end as and when required
• Support effective on-boarding and Induction programs driving a rigorous induction and onboarding process, to ensure the attraction and retention of quality front line staff.
• Identifying potential risks/barriers against training initiatives, and leveraging tools that enhance skills and competency development – e.g. (U+; SPA/TPA & other Assessment tools)
• Implement and monitor annual training aligned to regional plans.
• Ensure identified up training interventions and gaps are addressed via –On Class or Online (U+), and on the Job.
• Facilitate Awareness on HSE and related mandatory employee programmes such as Pink Note and SHE Golden Rules training
• Facilitate Awareness on HSE and related employee programmes, support the SHE officer drive the yearly and compliance SHE training
• Own and administer mandatory compliance training for the business in line with key policies including Code of Conduct, Data Privacy, other ethics and integrity policies, among others
• Ensure compliance and understanding of the PDR process including TPA & SPA for seamless quarterly and year-end reporting
• Support and offer effective advice on Performance management issues, and personally manage poor performance/Incapacity cases.
• Developing and managing databases of the index /on-line system for critical records; like Job Descriptions; Grading and policies.
• Liaising with payroll on workforce reports, administering and preparing source documentation for new intake, probations, and terminations, to provide accurate data for management information reports and documents.
• Manage and maintain SPEED portal on leave and Absence, as well as HR policy Index
• Custodian of maintaining HR reports for both local and Group reporting - HRI reporting – Productivity reporting (monthly) SPEED.
• Coordinate staff recruitment through internal applicant application and tracking tools, and selection through communication with various head hunters to ensure a timely and organized procedure to hire staff in the company, which promotes equal opportunity employer, is carried out.
• Deliver quality recruitment process and candidates towards more diversified teams
• Management of employee benefits and appropriate reviews. Maintain and manage seamless relationships with benefits providers (Pension &, GLA/GPA & medical schemes)
• Maintain industrial relations, deal with the labour officials, the union and FKE on matters pertaining to staff and ensure the company is in compliance with lab our laws.
• Succession Management: Assist the business unit's leadership to identify potential successors and assess their readiness by using objective methods
• Management of Front Desk and HR Staff development and performance
• Support Key HR projects: YVC, Salary surveys, Acquisition Integration due diligence and staff acquisitions
• Support the MD in coordination of Key safety programs e.g. Covid-19 committee
• Support local managers on IR /union matters and Labour Court representation.
• Liaison with external HR stakeholders and legislators
• Develop training programs and budgets in liaison with line managers and the SSA Learning & Development Manager, administer proper execution of yearly training and post training reviews, to ensure training meets its purpose. Liaise with NITA to ensure reimbursement of training costs where applicable
• Manage relationships with company insurance brokers and review insurance covers for value for money, ensuring no exposure to liabilities, and renewals are coordinated timely.
• Coordinate the incident and accident investigation and reporting to insurance for necessary claims, educate staff on relevant insurance policy provisions
• Coordinate and support the CSR agenda with relevant stakeholders
• Design and coordinate relevant staff engagement programs as may be appropriate, e.g. staff monthly meetings & awards, yearend parties and other ad hoc motivation plans
Do you have what it takes? If you want to be considered for this role you will need:
• Relevant HR/tertiary degree/ certification
• Successful track record in HR management/Labour Laws
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in similar role
• Computer literacy – MS Office, Internet tools, Google systems
• Experience in business partnership with Line management
