JOB DETAILS:
Group Finance Manager
Responsibilities:
Financial Management
• Manage the finance team and oversee the daily operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax compliance, inter-group transactions and reconciliations
• Develop, review, and implement appropriate internal control systems and financial procedures across the group to strengthen finance systems and processes.
• Ensure all supplier invoices, customer invoices and staff salaries and expenses are accurate and authorized in line with budget
• Reconcile key accounts regularly and confirm accuracy of account postings and other financial records
Financial Reporting and analysis
• Manage the month end timetable across the group to ensure monthly accounts are prepared and analysed for delivery on time to the CEO and Board
• Prepare a narrative for the CFO to compare actual versus budget with an explanation of key variances
• Submit monthly accounts to Country Managers/Departmental budget holders to support decision making to achieving their financial and operational goals
Budgeting and forecasting
• Contribute to annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting and assist Country/Departmental Managers in the same
• Provide regular and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and recommendations for budget holders and managers
• Provide explanation for variances, reconcile financial discrepancies; analyse account information to identify areas for potential improvement.
Cash Management and Treasury
• Manage cash across the group to ensure there are sufficient funds in place to pay staff, suppliers, and others
• Manage and monitor bank accounts across the group and work closely with AMI company secretarial team in Mauritius to ensure compliance with head office procedures. Authorise payments in line with financial authority levels.
• Manage foreign currency balances to minimize exposure to exchange rate fluctuations and liaise with banks and brokers to obtain best prices for foreign currency transactions
Compliance and governance
• Manage the audit process liaising with group and subsidiary auditors to ensure a well- executed audit process. Follow up and implement internal and external audit findings and issues raised
• Ensure compliance with local VAT, income tax, WHT and statutory reporting requirements (liaising with tax and other advisors as necessary)
• Ensure that financial policies and procedures are adequate, appropriate, and implemented across the group
• Guide and coach non-financial managers and staff in budget management, cost control, and adherence to financial processes and procedures
Team Management
• Provide leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives for departmental staff
• Implement, monitor, and facilitate performance management programs
