JOB DETAILS:
Group Director Technology
Reporting to the Group CEO the role is directly accountable for the management and oversight of Group Information Technology (IT) to provide a stable, robust, and innovative ICT environment that enables and drives business, banking operations, seamless and exemplary customer experience across the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
• In consultation with the Group CEO, formulate IT business plans and strategies aligned to Group Strategy
• Effectively manage and maintain Group IT systems, services and infrastructure
•Ensure a robust monitoring, controls, business continuity, security, backup and recovery, governance and risk management environment, with adherence to external and internal statutory and regulatory standards, risk and compliance management
• Proactively review IT strategies, plans and technologies in response to the operating environment and business challenges, in a manner that supports and enables business and banking operations, whilst optimizing costs and maximizing IT assets utilization
• Formulate and drive innovative IT initiatives, change and process improvement
• Identify and monitor new technologies and innovations in order to build successful new products, solutions and services
•Champion and propagate the Group's brand platform both internally and externally to IT stakeholders, service providers and vendors
• Provide, maintain and track status reporting on IT systems, service delivery, incident management, IT contracts & SLA compliance and fulfilment levels, with substantive and concise key performance/risk indicators
• Procure IT systems, services, technologies and infrastructure in line with Group policy, governance and business requirements
•Manage and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifying Requirements:
•University degree and professional qualifications, preferably in an IT-related field
• At least fifteen years' in-depth and broad experience in Information Technology, with over six years in a senior to top management position
• Ideally experience in financial services, preferably banking in order to have a sound and working knowledge of core banking systems and technologies
• Operating knowledge of information technology trends relating to banking and financial services at a regional and global level
• Excellent people management skills, team motivation and leadership competence
• Strong stakeholder management, networking, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Command market credibility with strong integrity and exhibit gravitas commensurate with the scale and importance of the role.
