Group Director Strategy & Innovation
Reporting to the Group CEO, this position is responsible for driving the development and implementation of Group strategy, innovation, strategic partnerships and project management, informed by business/data intelligence, knowledge and insights, aligned with the Group's brand purpose and values, vision, mission and promise, in a manner that enhances profitability, social and sustainability impact, business and market share growth, new ventures and acquisitions and the delivery of exemplary customer experience across the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and direct the strategy team to manage and coordinate the strategic planning process to formulate, review, refresh and/or update the Group strategy and business plans
• Lead and drive innovation and strategic partnerships and propositions as well as data/technology/knowledge management, insights and intelligence in the Group, in a manner that enables or creates existing/new business models and opportunities with commercial and impact viability
• Coordinate the collation of quality data and inputs to strategy and business plans from management and entities across the Group
• Lead the conducting of research, economic reviews, feasibility studies or commercial due diligence to inform strategy and business plans
• Manage the monitoring and reporting of delivery of Group strategy and business plans against plan and recommend actions to correct for deviations or to sustain trajectory as applicable
•Provide advisory services to management regarding strategy to enable execution
• Prepare, cascade or present management papers, scheduled/periodic reports and recommendations pertaining to strategy and plans to relevant Group entities and boards
• Manage key internal and external relationships and stakeholders
•Ensure talent and succession management.
Qualifying Requirements:
• University degree in a business-related field. Professional qualifications in strategic management, project management or other relevant fields are an added advantage
• Ten years' senior management experience with direct accountability for strategy and business plan development including at least five years at executive level
• Knowledge of the microeconomic and macroeconomic environment, regional financial services banking industry, fintech, relating product, market and technology trends
• Excellent cross-cultural people management skills, team motivation and leadership competence
• Well-developed networking and interpersonal skills with proven people, leadership, communication and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of regulatory operating regulations and environment as impact and relate to strategy and business execution.
