JOB DETAILS:
Duties and responsibilities:
Grant Reports & Proposals
• You’ll work with our fundraising team to ensure that Synnefa meets and exceeds all obligations to current donors by producing high-quality grant reports that keep our stakeholders informed on Synnefa’s progress and mission.
• Write and project manage high-quality engaging and tailor-made grant proposals and reports that are customised to address the key focus areas and requirements of prospective and current donors.
• Research and identify potential sources of foundation and corporate funding while building networks and strategic partnerships.
• Coordinate, monitor and/or support in the completion of all sub-components of technical proposals as per the agreed timeframe. Ensure the coherence and technical quality of the overall proposal package prior to submission.
• Plan and manage the entire proposal development process for identified funding opportunities, working closely with the Growth and Operations team to develop high-quality funding applications. This includes developing narratives, budgets, log frames and theory of change in accordance with funder guidelines.

Project Management
• Collaborate with our External Relations team to ensure that all grant project requirements, deadlines and schedules are on track. You’ll contribute to the development of Synnefa’s processes and its projects that keep our stakeholders informed and connected to Synnefa’s progress and mission.
• Plan and organise the completion of high-quality grant reports and proposals with other team members, while ensuring these projects are on time and within scope.
• Support the team in streamlining systems and processes to make grant reporting and information sourcing more efficient.
• Track KPIs that show our impact and closely monitor how our solutions address the SDGs.

Fundraising
• Generate leads, identify co-funding partners, analyse opportunities, pitch ideas and develop internal stakeholder buy-in to pursue opportunities.
• Craft strong business rationale and a tailored message to partners and funders. Communicate strategic initiatives and vision to inspire and convince partners to support the organization financially and technically.
• Organise and lead site visits with funders.
• Travel across the globe to connect, nurture and close relationships with high-net-worth individuals and foundations.

Minimum Qualifications
This is well-suited for those with 1-3 years of work experience. The ideal candidate will have:
• Previously fundraised more than $500,000 in their career and worked with donors such as Family Offices, Multilateral partners like USAID, SIDA, FCO etc.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills; experience working with a remote team to successfully manage multiple projects with competing timelines.
• A high degree of proficiency working in a fast-paced, flexible, goal-oriented environment, with the highest level of personal and professional integrity.
• A self-starter, able to prioritise and manage multiple assignments, take the initiative, and work independently to a deadline.
• Able to produce engaging and credible content writing and an understanding of how to adapt for different audiences and purposes.
• The ability to review, summarise and present a high volume of information quickly and accurately with advanced structuring, writing and editing skills.

Required skills and competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area is desired but not required.
• A well-versed communicator at all organisational levels, with strong oral and written skills; required native fluency in English.
• Determination and self-drive to achieve success.
• Strong organisation skills, rigorous, analytic and details oriented, creative and innovative thinking.
• Strong understanding of project cycle management, monitoring, and evaluation.
