Position: Fisheries Officer II JOB GROUP CPSB 09

Number of Posts: Three (3) Posts
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Basic Salary Scale: As provided for by the Salaries and Remunerations Commission

Duties and responsibilities
An officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of an experienced officer. Specific duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Receiving and compiling fisheries related statistical data from the field;
2. Analyzing fisheries data and preparing reports;
3. Assist in monitoring, control and surveillance of the fisheries resources;
4. Undertaking fisheries extension activities; maintaining of ponds at fish farms and hatcheries;
5. Inspecting fish and fish handling facilities at fish landing sites, marketing and farms;
6. Assisting in the promotion of fish marketing and value chain; and,
7. Any other duties related to Livestock & Fisheries development assigned by the Director.

Requirements for Appointment
1. Be a Kenyan Citizen;
2. Have a degree in any of the following fields: - Fisheries, Zoology, Aquatic Science, Relevant Biological sciences, any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; and,
3. Certificate in Computer skills from a recognized institution.
