JOB DETAILS:
CIFORD(Community Initiative For Rural Development) Kenya is a community based organization working in Meru North region of Meru County. It is a local development organization which works towards contributing to positive living within the community. It strives to improve the lives of the less fortunate in the community through community capacity building and trainings on sustainable development strategies.
CIFORD has partnered with Child.org as a local implementation partner in Meru to implement a UKAID funded Maternal and Child Health Project in Igembe Central, Meru County.
The role
The Pregnant Women’s Group project is a project that aims to create a supportive environment for 5700 rural poor women to learn about maternal health and increase their confidence with the intention that this intervention will improve maternal and child well being.
The role will involve day to day supervision of the Pregnant Women’s Group field based activities in Igembe Central Sub-county, Meru County. The role will be based in Igembe Central, Meru, and will work very closely with the Project Officer at CIFORD and Community Social Mobilizers to ensure that the project achieves it’s set objectives. .
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist in the implementation of the Pregnant Women’s Group Project in Meru and ensure effective planning of activities, quality delivery and adherence to donor guidelines.
• Maintain up to date documentation relating to project implementation.
• Assist in tracking progress on project implementation as well as on the utilization of project resources.
• Organising for project related workshops and training.
• Facilitating pregnant women’s groups sessions.
• Supervision and mentorship of social mobilizers to effectively conduct pregnant women’s groups sessions.
• Collecting and reporting data for key programmatic outputs, outcomes, and impact indicators, including routine data validation.

 Job Qualifications:
• Diploma in Public Health or social work with two years of work experience.
• Experience working in the community with a focus on women and children.
• Experience working with community health volunteers.
• Experience running community women’s groups.
• Experience addressing public on health issues preferred
• Familiarity with the local languages will be an added advantage
