North Horr Sub County (Marsabit County) Afriscout Field Agent/Consultant
The North Horr Field Agent will be a part of a growing global team (US, Kenya Tanzania, Ethiopia) that is enhancing the way pastoralists make migration decisions by providing relevant digital information. Global Communities (GC) seeks to recruit an individual who is mission-driven, passionate and experienced in community engagement and mobilization, and is excited about the opportunity to work on a social enterprise project that could have huge impact for some of the most marginalized populations in Kenya and across the continent. The social enterprise will be focused promoting the AfriScout mobile app in North Horr. The successful candidate’s assignment will involve some aspects of sales, marketing, customer education and adoption, monitoring and evaluation, and quality assurance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Introduce the AfriScout mobile application to pastoral communities
• Assist community members to successfully download and register for the app and purchase their subscriptions after their free trial period ends
• Continuous follow-up with registered users
• Demonstrate and encourage use of the app by posting and commenting on alerts
• Review all alerts posted in assigned mapped area for accuracy, verify questionable alerts with customers, and share insights on alerts with AfriScout’s Head of Community Engagement.
• Respond to customer queries in a timely manner and provide and troubleshooting support
• Organize and participate in events to build community and boost awareness of AfriScout
• Promote the new IBLT-AfriScout bundle and direct customers where they can buy
• Liaise with AfriScout’s Head of Community Engagement to stay updated on product updates and special offers
• Document customer experiences and share any issues with the AfriScout team
Required Qualification:
The applicant should be learned person (Form 4 certificate, diploma, or degree holder) who is conversant with pastoral communities in North Horr region, must live in North Horr, and be computer and smartphone savvy/literate. Fluency in English, Swahili, and Borana languages required.
Remuneration:
The consultant will receive travel facilitation of KES 15,000 and airtime worth KES 1,000 at the beginning of each month and a maximum end month payment of KES 17,500 payable proportionately to the work done against the set targets.
