Job Description
• Installing and terminating fiber optic cables and other network equipment.
• Fiber link faulting and faults resolutions within the service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Being on call to maintain fiber cables and equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance in different clusters as scheduled.
• Splicing fiber optics at various fiber distribution hubs, troubleshooting and testing fiber links with a light source, optical power meters and an OTDR.
• Observing Health & safety guidelines and ensuring quality assurance throughout the implementation and maintenance period.
• Providing timely updates on fiber faults to the NOC personnel and ensuring excellent customer service to the client.
• Educating clients on basic trouble shooting process and answering fiber optic related questions from customers.
• Documentation and generation of reports on work done.
• Individual will work as a team with other technicians and NOC personnel and report to field supervisors.

Education, Experience and Competence;
• BSC or Equivalent in (Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering , IT).
• Fiber Optics Technician certified.
• Health & Safety Training is an added advantage.
• Work at Height Training is also an added advantage.
• Must have 2 years’ prior experience in Fiber optics deployment, splicing, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Must have knowledge in fiber Optic installation and testing equipment.
• Must have Problem solving abilities, ability to work under pressure, team player and extreme attention to details.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
