How can you make a difference?
Key activities & duties

• Provide response support and coordination at the district level for UNICEF supported pillars of Ebola response:
• Represent UNICEF at the district level in all response planned engagements with feedback to UNICEF head office.
• Facilitate the distribution and optimal use of UNICEF donated supplies to the district while supporting end-user monitoring.
• Actively participate in the district coordination meetings including; DTF, partners coordination and other pillar meetings
• Ensure timely reporting (weekly) on supplies and response progress at the district, facility and community.
• Supporting and working with the district Inventory officers to prepare supplies requests timely and accurately .
• Providing support on community related trainings, community dialogues, and follow up by district, health facility and community level leaders.
• Undertaking field visits to health facilities and communities to provide onsite technical support in reporting, community engagement and supplies management.
• Participate in UNICEF Ebola task force meetings as when scheduled
• Provide technical support to DTF in preparations and development of response plans and workplans
• Support DTF in development of activity and implementation plans
• Participation in the planning and implementation of key interventions
• Participating in planned joint monitoring of the response across the pillars
• Working closely with District Health and WASH officers and other WASH/IPC pillar teams in the affected areas to conduct IPC needs assessment in the HCFs and communities at risk, including for enforcement of the Public Health Act (PHA)
• Support timely data collection and reporting at community, health facility and district level
• Weekly reporting on numbers of beneficiaries reached and supplies utilization
• Support daily, weekly and monthly data capture and reporting to UNICEF on the progress of outbreak response.
• Support the use and reporting by use of established tools like U-report, Mtrac, Godata
• Support follow-up and share information on implementation of all UNICEF supported pillars (RCCE, IPC/WASH in institutions and community, case management, surveillance etc).
• Work with the DTF/DHT to map out hot-spot villages/sub-counties with higher levels of infection and share for joint support
• Document best practices, lessons learned and gaps, human interests stories and share with UNICEF on monthly basis for funding use.
• Monitor, document and share with UNICEF progress and continuity of essential health services amidst the Ebola outbreak in the assigned district

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have
Education-

• An advanced university degree in Public Health and related fields

Work Experience-
• A minimum of five years of work experience with focus on health emergencies/disease outbreaks and Infection Prevention and Control.
• Experience working in emergency response an advantage.
