Executive Office Advisor
The Opportunity
As Executive Office Advisor you will provide high quality, strategic and politically attuned advise to the to the CEO and Plan International senior leadership on external priority issues, position statements and external and internal communications activities
You will also be responsible for oversight, planning and operational support for the CEO’s engagement with external stakeholders, develops CEO speech and briefs, and manages the CEO’s internal and external communications
In this role you will work across global functions to source technical narratives to further the CEO’s engagement agenda to create and implement powerful content that contributes to engagement and helps communicate our vision and our culture.
The Individual
• With proven expertise providing strategic and analytical support to senior management and/or governance bodies you will have advanced interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills and the capacity to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• You will need to have relevant experience in executive decision-making teams within international or multilateral environments. As well as demonstrable experience of speech writing and internal/external communications.
• Capable of adapting quickly to changing priorities, flexible and with the ability to process information quickly and provide creative solutions you will work both independently and collaboratively as required.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Support the CEO’s engagement and communication activities, utilising knowledge of organisational priorities and global opportunities, to ensure the CEO is best placed to achieve their strategic aims.
• Act as the speechwriter for the CEO, working from sourced technical contents from other global functional teams and manage the communications of the CEO across multiple platforms.
• Together with other senior PII leaders, the Head of Executive Engagement provide advice on planning and prioritisation of the CEO's external engagement agenda in support of successful delivery of their objectives.
• Interface with relevant stakeholders within and outside the organisation, provide highly quality, strategic and timely advice to the CEO through effective collaboration with colleagues from areas such as internal and external communications, policy, partnerships, private sector relations, projects and development.
• Travel with the CEO when there is a multi-stakeholder agenda, providing broad writing, planning, gate-keeping and administrative support to the CEO. Also providing support to Internal and External Communications team in developing pre-agreed communications content for these visits.
• Support overall delivery of Executive Office service delivery in line with the global services catalogue, being available to support outside of own mandate at times as requested by HoEE or CEO.
• Provide support to senior leaders and governance bodies of Plan International, in preparation for and during their external engagements, through development of messages and communication materials, as requested by the Director of Governance or the CEO.
• Provide high quality support to strong internal functional coordination and engagement meetings with key functions, serving as convenor, coordinator, meeting chair , including by drafting high quality minutes and action logs.
• Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures that support efficient internal and external engagement by management.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Experience working in an international or multilateral environment, including experience in executive decision-making teams.
• Experience in providing strategic and analytical support to senior management and/or governance bodies.
• Experience and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
• Speechwriting and communications experience.
• Track record of managing successful stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
Desired
Experience from having worked in a development or humanitarian setting.
