JOB DETAILS:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Strategic direction: Develop strategic priorities for growing influence and impact across the African continent as an ‘enabler’ of innovations and alternatives to the current system and of growing climate justice movements, in alignment with the organizational mandate.
• Delivering an organizational design that is fit for purpose of the strategy: Work collaboratively across the functional directors to lead and design an effective structure of the organization in resonance with approach to grounding African consciousness in ways of working, and with balancing organizational stability and agility
• Enhancing business models and planning: Ensure short, mid, long term planning for the organization and steer organizational development to ensure we build resilience, capabilities, and ways of working to respond to unpredictable changes; and ensure effective and agile monitoring and learning.
• Accountability: Ensure implementation of effective shared standards, policies, and accountability systems; ensure organizational integrity and effectiveness remaining strong, transparent, and aligned with the strategic direction of the organization; and ensure the protection of the brand.
• Public Representation: Assume a public representational role in high-level for a to convey missions and to ignite necessary political, and societal will to act on climate justice. This also includes assuming a strong African and majority world representation within the global network as well as in global platforms.
Requirements
• A Master’s degree in social science, sustainable development, environmental issues or other relevant discipline from a recognized university or equivalent institution and 10 years plus working experience.
• Able to work collaboratively and decisively as an influential leader in a complex global network-based organization.
• Ability to influence and to network with high stakes and instruments internally and externally.
• A track record of leadership in different African cultures.
• Countries – Cameroon, DRC, Kenya, Senegal or South Africa.
• You have excellent command of English; Fluency in French would be an additional advantage.
