JOB DETAILS:
Environmental Health & Safety Specialist – Kenya

Context: For a project in the sanitation sector we are looking for a Environmental Health & Safety Specialist with extensive experience in Kenya. br/>
Responsibility:
- Will lead in the environmental assessment and consolidate issues and recommendations on the environment for incorporation in the project design and implementation.
- Will endure implementation of the ESMP by the contractor and ensure that site safety regulations are adhered to on site
- Will handle all Health and safety-related project issues and ensure regular reporting including monthly project Health and safety internal Audits.
- Will be responsible for carrying out risk assessment during the implementation of the project and recommending the mitigation measures for the possible risks identified.

Specific professional experience:
- at least ten (10) years’ of relevant experience.

Qualifications:
- Minimum qualification is Degree in Environmental studies
- Must be registered with the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) as a lead consultant under the EMCA Act
- Must possess relevant training in Environmental Health and Safety studies (Possession of NEBOSH Certification is an added advantage)
