JOB DETAILS:
About role
BURN is seeking to hire (10) enumerators in Marsabit responsible for data collection as per field and survey project protocols. The enumerator will be conducting home visits to our ‘jikokoa’ customers to collect data and perform demos where necessary.

Duties and responsibilities
1. Attend enumerators workshops to ensure a thorough and clear overview of the context, objectives, and relevance of the impact of the survey.
2. Understanding of the manual content, that is the survey instrument – questionnaire, the survey instrument, the survey protocols and design.
3. Consult with trainers and supervisors for clarification.
4. Plan logistics and contact the respondents to arrange the best time to conduct the visits.
5. •Visit each household, perform demos where necessary, be keen to observe and check that there are no inconsistencies.
6. Ask all applicable questions and make no unauthorized variations in the wording of questions.
7. Transcribe, record, enter and maintain data in written or electronic forms in the format instructed.
8. Ensure the data collected from respondents adheres and complies with the required instructions to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency and quality.
9. •Ensure the areas assigned within your enumeration scope are fully covered.
10. Understand, take responsibility of your tasks and remain committed throughout the process of data collection project.
11. Report and relay feedback as instructed.

Skills and experience
1. Prior experience in data collection preferred.
2. Relevant education and background.
3. Must be keen, observant and pay attention to detail especially in recording the responses.
4. Must have a smart phone and strong technology skills to input data in the app, take pictures and measurements.
5. Must have a KRA pin and National ID card.
6. Must be able to communicate in English, Swahili and the respondent’s local language.
7. Good interpersonal skills to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds, explain the survey purpose and conduct interviews.
8. Comfortable walking for long periods to cover a wide distance.
9. Available to work for the whole duration of the survey.
10. Familiarity with local context or culture
11. High integrity and punctuality.
12. Teamwork and collaborative skills.
