Job Purpose:
The mission of the Corporate Affairs team is to build a reputation that fuels Growth We Are Proud Of, and help Mars become the most mutual company in the world. This is achieved through a combination of:

  •  Anticipating, influencing and contributing to shaping key policies through strong relationships with government officials, business associations, policymakers and legislators
  •  Designing and executing an external communications strategy
  •  Designing and executing CSI initiatives
  •  partnerships (for instance with local charities) and developing internal employee engagement programs, such as employee volunteering
  •  Creating and executing compelling internal communications
  •  Successfully anticipating, mitigating and managing crisis to minimize harm to brands and corporate reputation

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Implement a successful Public Affairs proactive outreach strategy with key Government stakeholders, with focus on the East Africa markets
  •  Build and maintain a strong network with key government stakeholders with the aim of protecting and enhancing the company image, and sustain our ability to market our products without restrictions
  •  Represent the Company in key business associations, industry groups and third party forums and events
  •  Remain current and develop deep understanding of policies and regulations of relevance to Wrigley’s raw materials and finished products
  •  Develop and execute impactful communications and key corporate messages
  •  Anticipate, mitigate and manage reputational crises
  • Drive proactive efforts to build Wrigley’s reputation with key business stakeholders, including consumers, associates, media and community
  •  Ensure consumers’ optimal experiences with our brands
  •  Develop expertise in consumer care processes

Education & Professional Qualification:

  •  Bachelors Degree with relevant experience in the corporate affairs field.

Knowledge/Experience:

  •  Minimum of 5 years of experience.
