JOB DETAILS:
Royal Media Services is looking for a DevOps Engineer to be based in one of our subsidiary Companies.
• He/She will support development and operations, including coding, infrastructure management, system administration, and DevOps tool chains.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of common system architecture, provisioning, and administration, source control, giving and receiving code reviews, writing unit tests, and familiarity with agile principles.

Key roles & responsibilities
• Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure
• Working with software developers and software engineers to build systems and ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Design, configure, and support software build/deploy pipelines (CI/CD, Git, GitLab) for Group projects
• Undertakes software deployment through various staged operating environments i.e. Development, QA, Staging, Production
• Ensure that we have the best system hosting & backup services for all products across the Group
• Tests code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline and minimize errors
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions.
• Optimization of the applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Academic Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Computer Engineering or any other relevant course
• Proven programming experience in web based application development with a focus on JavaScript (JQuery, AngularJS) PHP (WordPress CMS, Laravel or Codeigniter Framework, HTML, MySQL (PostgreSQL as added advantage)
• Hands-on experience with Web Services and API’s (REST, SOAP, etc ..)
• Working knowledge of AWS, Git, Bitbucket, SMS, USSD and HTML5
• Experience with flutter will be an added advantage
• Experience with Firebase, Location Services, Video/Audio streaming, and other common iOS/ Android libraries
• Understanding of the Agile development life-cycle
• Experience with Microsoft dynamics customization will be an added advantage
• Experience deploying applications on AWS
• Must have strong debugging, troubleshooting and collaborative skills
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience at corporate or media institutions at similar roles
• Self-starter, Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to details, Willingness to innovate, explore new ideas and acquire new skills.
