JOB DETAILS:
QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities
• Formulate, implement and review sports policies, strategies and programs;
• Coordinate, supervise and implement sporting activities, policies and development programs regarding sports at the county level.
• Coordinate the training, mentoring, and evaluating sports officers.
• Facilitate partnership with private, public organizations and individuals in developing sports facilities and talent;
• Liaise with stakeholders such as sports federations, clubs and teams in conducting clinics in sports standards.
• Collaborate with sports federations to monitor doping in sports and participate in organizing sports championship;
• Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of sports programmes and projects;
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the sporting activities and programmes;
• Guide preparation and management of departmental sports budget;
• Coordinate and supervise elections of sports associations;
• Oversee development and maintenance of sports grounds, stadia and recreational facilities.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance against set targets.
• Undertake additional roles as directed by the controlling officer.

Requirement for Appointment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management Studies, or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Master’s Degree in Sports Management Studies or any other relevant field from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
• Have knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than five (5) years, three (3) of which must have been at management level;
• Having undergone management course of not less than four weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
• Successful applicant to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity;
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance results.
