Job Requirements
• A minimum of Bachelor degree in Social Sciences with a bias in Anthropology, Social Work, Sociology, Counseling Psychology, or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution.
• KCSE or its Equivalent. Bachelor degree in social science and any other relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum level of professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role
• Registered practitioner with Kenya National Association of Social Workers, & Kenya Counseling Association
• Five (5) years’ experience, (2) years of which must have been working with children, the Aged, PWDs and other vulnerable families either in Public Service or Private Sector
• Ten (10) years’ experience, five (5) years of which must have been working with children, the Aged, PWDs and other vulnerable families.
• Possess Leadership skills, Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Organizational skills, Ability to work under pressure, Negotiation skills, Ability to build and lead cohesive teams, Problem solving skills
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and integrity.

Job Description
• Overall managerial roles and provision of strategic leadership and direction, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling and coordinating.
• Overseeing county childcare facilities and care for the elderly.
• Development of departmental/division work plans, action plans, budgetary projections, performance targets, and procurement plans.
• Overseeing proper utilization of resources
• Risk management, corruption prevention and awareness programs.
• Facilitate programs and institutions for children care, protection and development.
• Coordinate family and children services in the County
• Formulation and implementation of policies and legislations on Gender and social development
• Planning, coordination and implementation of rescue, rehabilitation, reintegration and resocialization of street and other vulnerable persons.
• Coordination of Supervision and inspection of childcare facilities and OVC support mechanisms.
• Planning, Coordination and implementation of psychosocial support programmes.
• Development and implementation of policies and other legal framework under childcare, social protection and care for the aged.
• Monitoring and evaluation of programmes
• Preparation of departmental budgets & procurement plans
• Requisition of funds for departmental programs implementation.
