Deputy Director, Health Product Technologies Compliance Services
Job Ref. No KEMSA/HPT/2022/003:
Scope of Work /Duties /Responsibilities
• Overseeing the activity of the HPT Compliance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for HPTs;
• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and any agreed protocols;
• Ensuring the HPT Compliance processes are supporting sound financial practices and operational efficiencies;
• Communicating quality standards and parameters to QA team and other appropriate staff;
• Ensuring proper classification of all HPTs within the KEMSA supply chain and transmit these reports to Authority Management and the Ministry of Health for coding of HPTs in the country;
• Ensuring technical specifications of HPT tenders meet quality standards
• Ensuring transport tender specifications meet GDPs
• Ensuring transporters meet Good Distribution Practices as guided by relevant regulatory bodies;
• Coordinating routine quality testing of HPTs in collaboration with regulatory bodies and accredited testing agencies;
• Ensuring warehouse and distribution SOPs meet GDP guidelines;
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy;
• Master’s Degree in the following disciplines: Business Administration, Health Care Management, Health Systems Management and Public Health;
• Membership to a professional body where applicable;
• Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications; and
• Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Experience
• A minimum period of ten (10) years in relevant work experience and at least four (4) years in a Supervisory position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
