Overview
Core job functions are:
1. Analyse Farmfit data against Farmfit pre-defined hypotheses.
2. Setting up scripted analyses and reporting.
3. Highlighting where analytical learning in one area could benefit another area of our work.
4. Contribute to the maturity of our approach to reproducible analyses.
5. Visualize and communicate analysis results to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Evaluate external data sources for incorporation into our analyses.
7. Assist with maintaining a good level of data quality.
You may be a fit if you have:
• A background in development agribusiness, economics, econometrics, finance, international business or economics
• Knowledge of (and interest in) sustainability, international trade, supply chains and/or agri-commodities is a bonus.
• Some excel knowledge. A lot of our data is generated from Excel workbooks, and you will need to navigate these occasionally.
• Excellent numerical ability.
• Good grasp of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. You will create insights from our data, underpinned by the hypotheses in our Learning Framework, and a good understanding of statistical concepts will help you to achieve this.
• Good familiarity with R. We are moving towards reproducible analysis, data cleaning and sharing code.
• Ability to learn and to describe solutions to others – in some cases you will need to figure out how to do something, and then show us how to do it!
• Comfortable with identifying and establishing systems or procedures that you need to do great work and deliver value to IDH.
• It will be a bonus if you have some experience with advanced statistical methods such as statistical modelling and machine learning.
Your profile
• Thinking at Bachelor’s level;
• 2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in an international organization;
• Methodical approach with attention to detail;
• Result-oriented, self-starting with excellent organizational skills;
• Highly flexible; able to take initiative;
• Ability to prioritize tasks, try things out and ask for help;
• Eager to learn;
• Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus;
• Good communicator;
• Good team player.
