Job Description
Job Title: DSC Analyst - Custody
Accountability: Filing & Scanning of Securities and Record Management
Outputs:
• Job holder is responsible for scanning & custody of security documents in the course of the perfection process and custody of the same after perfection.
• Job holder is responsible for orderly filing of security documents in the strong room and retrieval of the security documents as dictated by the business.
• Job holder is responsible for marking BIN locations of dossiers at the Basement.
• Job holder is responsible for Record Management within the Department
• Any other roles that will be assigned to the Job Holder

Accountability: Helpdesk & Query Resolution
Outputs:
Job holder is responsible for handling queries assigned to Custody from the DSC Helpdesk.
Accountability: Manage risk and control effectively by applying applicable risk frameworks and embedding a positive risk culture.
Outputs:
• Understand own role in the end to end processes in which I play a part, including applicable risks and controls.
• Adhere to ABSA s’ policies and procedures applicable to own role, demonstrating sound judgment and responsible risk management.
• Report all risk events / incidents / issues using the defined process for business area and help to understand why these happened and how to prevent them in future.
• Proactively look for ways to improve the control environment by considering what could go wrong in the processes I operate and how errors could be prevented.

Education and Experience Required:
Education:
• Relevant Bachelors - degree
Experience
• Experience in Record Keeping/Management
• Experience in analysis, data gathering, data collation and data interpretation

Knowledge & Skills Required:
Essential
• Advances/Securities Back ground
• Extensive MS Office Skills
• Ability to work under pressure, with self-discipline and motivation
• Organizational, communication, planning and analytical skills
• Team player
• Knowledge of the Bank’s products, services and policies

Preferred
• Knowledge of the Absa Data and Records Management Policy
