JOB DETAILS:
County Secretary & Head of Public Service( 1)
County Secretary & Head of Public Service – JG ‘T’ (1 Post), [5years Contract renewable once]
(Remuneration of this position is guided by the Salaries & Remuneration Commission which is subject to change from time to time)

Duties and Responsibilities
The County Secretary will be the Head of the County Public Service in the County Government and will be responsible for the following:
i. Be the Secretary to the County Executive Committee
ii. Providing strategic policy direction to improve service delivery in the County Public Service.
iii. Arranging the business, and keeping the minutes of the County Executive Committee subject to the directions of the executive committee.
iv. Conveying the decisions of the County Executive Committee to the appropriate persons or authorities and track their implementation.
v. Ensure efficient management of resources.
vi. Interpret,disseminate and oversee the implementation of National and County Government policies.
vii. Coordinate County Government activities.
viii. Provide direction and guidance to public officers in the County.
ix. Performing anyother functions as directed by the County Executive Committee.

Requirements and competencies for Appointment.
i. Be a Kenyan citizen.
ii. Be a holder of at least first degree from a recognized university in Kenya.
iii. Have atleast ten(10) years of relevant professional experience.
iv. have at least five years’ experience in a leadership position atsenior management level in a publicservice or private sector organization; and
v. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and integrity.
